With over 30 years of experience in physical therapy, specializing in treating osteoporosis and musculoskeletal conditions, I have developed my BONES Method™—a holistic approach that naturally supports every aspect of bone health. This comprehensive method is designed to strengthen your bones, enhance overall well-being, and promote a balanced, vibrant life.

I bring a rich diversity of experience and knowledge to the healthcare profession. I graduated from the University of Southern California in 1989 with a Master of Physical Therapy and started working in outpatient physical therapy.

I treated individuals with various muscle and skeletal disorders, and I couldn’t help but notice the increasing reliance on pharmaceutical medications despite patients’ ongoing aches, pains, and slow recovery.

However, it became evident that patients who led a natural, healthy lifestyle experienced faster and more complete recovery. It wasn’t until I treated my own injury through a nutrient-rich diet, targeted supplements, and proper exercise and rest cycles that I truly understood the power of taking a holistic approach to the healing process.

Recognizing the importance of integrating different therapeutic approaches and healing modalities, I decided to pursue a degree in integrative medicine at Capital University of Integrative Medicine. This program educated me in a variety of alternative treatments and therapies, emphasizing the importance of evaluating a person as a whole and considering all aspects of their health and well-being.

It was during this time that I developed a passion for nutrition, believing it to be the true foundation for optimal health and healing. I continued my studies in nutrition and obtained a degree as a Certified Nutritionist from the American Health Science University in 2006.

Later, in 2014, I earned a Post Master’s Certificate in Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health. I am also a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

Throughout my years of practice, I noticed an increasing number of women with osteoporosis. Many of these women were taking osteoporosis medications but experiencing significant side effects such as digestive issues, jaw necrosis, abnormal fractures, or not seeing any improvement in their bone density scans. Others sought natural alternatives to restore their bones and refused medications due to the array of side effects.

Recognizing that bones, like all organs, are affected by various aspects of our health, I developed a holistic treatment approach to address bone loss and osteoporosis. My BONES Method™ combines my experience in physical therapy, nutrition, and integrative medicine to provide a truly integrative and holistic approach.

 

With a strong foundation in physical therapy, I assess muscle strength, posture, and balance to create personalized therapeutic exercise programs that safely enhance bone strength. As a nutritionist, I focus on optimizing the nutrients essential for bone health, while also evaluating digestion and absorption to ensure these nutrients are properly metabolized. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of reducing stressors that can contribute to bone loss, helping to strengthen your inner stability. By offering a comprehensive, holistic approach to bone health, I address all aspects of strengthening and protecting your bones naturally.

In addition to my private practice, I enjoy collaborating with other physical therapists, chiropractors, and medical doctors throughout the US. I also provide remote consultations and work with patients through Skype, Zoom, and phone calls.

Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my family on our sailboat, paddle boarding, and exploring nature through hiking.

I reside in Virginia with my husband and our brave blind dog. I also have two children who have embarked on their respective journeys, pursuing their passions in life.

My husband and I have a deep love for sailing. In fact, we are currently in the process of planning an exciting sailing adventure to the Bahamas.
